April and Rob :: Santa Barbara Engagement Portrait Photographer

Santa Barbara is my favorite place on the central coast to do a portrait session because it's just awesome.  The beach, the city, and the people.  Every homeless person there has two things: a dog and a request that I pay them $5 to take a portrait of them.  Unfortunately for them, I'm not a Brooks student looking for an interesting subject because I already had a beautiful, fun couple, Rob and April.

Rob and April have known each other since high school and that's a pretty common story for a couple in love.   But what's not common is that they didn't get together until several years later when April was going to law school in southern California and Rob was working on his PhD in Michigan.  Rob's still in Michigan and April is still in California (she's now a BAR certified attorney!) but you know what they say; absence makes the heart grow fonder.  Presence can make the heart grow fonder too so I hope they get to experience more of that real soon.

Thank you Rob and April, for such a fun photography session.  You guys rock!

First Look at April and Rob :: Santa Barbara Engagement Photographer

Here's a quick look at a few of the photos from our Santa Barbara engagement photography session with April and Rob, two awesome people who I had a lot of fun with!  They're on a trip right now but when they get back, I'll post the remaining photos and the video slideshow.

Petersen and Banks Family :: Arroyo Grande Family Photographer

Three years ago, I was the photographer for Alex and Riana's wedding.  Earlier this month, Riana called me up (actually, I think it was a text message) and said she wanted to get a group photograph of her cousins.  At first, I was amazed that all her cousins live nearby.  I come from a military family and the idea of family photography was impossible.  Someone was always overseas or in another State.  Fortunately for Riana and the rest of the Petersen cousins, it only meant a drive from Lompoc or Santa Barbara to get the job done.  After the photography session, Christi and Jason even invited us over for breakfast.  Thanks so much for a wonderful Sunday morning!  Don't forget to watch the video at the bottom of the blog.
